Ecom Forward
vs BeProfit.

No sales spin. Where BeProfit wins, we say so. Where Ecom Forward wins, we point to the specific feature so you can verify yourself. Pick the one that fits your business.

BeProfit shows you yesterday's profit.
Ecom Forward runs the business.

BeProfit is a profit tracker — and a good one. But running an ecommerce brand needs more than yesterday's number. You need cash-flow visibility (will I make payroll this month?), forward-looking goals (are we on pace?), a team working inside the same data (your accountant, VA, media buyer — each with their own scoped access), and tasks tied to the metrics rather than parked in a separate Notion.

Most BeProfit users we talk to are running BeProfit + a forecasting spreadsheet + Notion or Asana for tasks + an email thread to their accountant. Ecom Forward replaces that stack at $99/mo for a single store.

Choose Ecom Forward if…

  • You sell on Shopify only (one or many stores).
  • You want P&L + Cash Flow + Balance Sheet — not just P&L.
  • You manage by monthly goals and want them tracked first-class.
  • You give scoped access to accountants, agencies, or contractors.
  • You want Ford — an AI co-founder built into the dashboard, Slack and Telegram.
  • You value every feature at every tier — no gating.

Choose BeProfit if…

Acquired by Viably, Oct 2024
  • You sell across multiple platforms (Shopify + Amazon, WooCommerce, Wix).
  • You need 4+ shipping carrier integrations (Shippo, ShipStation, ShipHero, ShippingEasy).
  • You're a dropshipper using AliExpress + CJ Dropshipping for COGS automation.
  • Your accountant needs the most configurable cost engine — % of ad spend variable expenses, fulfillment profiles by zone, predicted returns.
  • You want scheduled custom reports emailed to multiple recipients.

Both products do live P&L well. The matrix below shows where each one is structurally ahead — pick by the rows that matter to your business, not by feature count.

Where Ecom Forward is genuinely ahead

BeProfit is a profit tracker. Ecom Forward is where you run the business — money, team, goals, tasks, all in one place.

  • Cash Flow + Balance Sheet. 13-week rolling forecast, runway widget, auto-derived inventory + retained earnings + payouts. BeProfit ships P&L only.
  • Goals as a first-class tab. 6 metrics × per-store × per-month + history + hit/miss streak. BeProfit has no goal-tracking surface.
  • Ford, your AI co-founder. Ask anything in plain English in the dashboard, Slack, or Telegram. BeProfit has nothing like it.
  • Per-tab custom team roles. Give your accountant just Financials, your agency just Marketing. BeProfit has Admin / View-only.
  • Multi-currency reporting. Convert all stores to a reporting currency via live FX rates. BeProfit is shop-currency-only.
  • Subscription order auto-detection. Recharge / Skio / Loop / native — no manual config.
  • Tasks board + AI Listings. The operating workflow inside the analytics product, not just a read-only dashboard.
  • Self-serve everything. Cancel, swap plans, invite team, consolidate workspaces — all in-app. BeProfit pushes most of these to support email.
  • Every feature at every tier. Captain $99 includes the same features as Fleet $349 — only store count + AI cap + support depth differ.

Common questions

Is Ecom Forward cheaper than BeProfit?

For the most common buyer (single-store operator who wants UTM + LTV cohorts), yes — Captain at $99/mo vs BeProfit Ultimate at $149/mo. For a 3-store operator, EF Crew at $199/mo vs BeProfit Plus at $249/mo. For an unlimited-store agency, BeProfit Plus at $249/mo is cheaper than EF Fleet at $349/mo — though Fleet includes founder onboarding + direct support that BeProfit doesn't bundle at any price.

Do I lose any features by switching from BeProfit to Ecom Forward?

Yes, in three areas: (1) multi-platform — if you sell on Amazon / WooCommerce / Wix, Ecom Forward won't help. (2) shipping carrier integrations — Shippo, ShipStation, ShipHero, ShippingEasy are BeProfit-only. (3) the deepest cost-modeling configurations — % of ad spend variable expenses, fulfillment profiles by zone, predicted returns. If any of those are load-bearing for you, stay on BeProfit.

What do I gain by switching?

You stop running your business across four tools. BeProfit tells you what your profit did yesterday — that's its job, and it does it well. But to actually run an ecommerce brand you also need cash-flow visibility, forward-looking goals, a team working inside the data (each with scoped access), and tasks tied to the metrics. Most BeProfit users today stitch BeProfit + a forecasting spreadsheet + Notion or Asana + an email thread for handoffs. Ecom Forward replaces that stack.

Concretely: Cash Flow + Balance Sheet, Goals as a first-class tab, per-tab custom team roles, Tasks board, Ford the AI analyst, multi-currency reporting, subscription order detection — all at $99/mo at the entry tier, same feature set as the $349 tier, just fewer stores.

Can I import my BeProfit data into Ecom Forward?

Most of what matters re-syncs from Shopify automatically when you connect — orders, products, COGS (variant-level), refunds, customers. Custom expense categories you set up in BeProfit need to be re-created in Ecom Forward (a 5-minute job for most stores). If you have a heavy custom-metrics setup in BeProfit, email us and we'll help.

Is BeProfit going away?

No. They were acquired by Viably (an ecommerce banking and lending platform) in October 2024 and now operate under Viably's umbrella as “Viably Profit Analytics.” The product is actively maintained. Strategically, analytics is no longer their parent company's primary product — Viably's core business is lending, and BeProfit's role inside that is partly to feed merchant data into the lending pipeline. Whether that matters to you depends on your appetite for sharing your numbers with a fintech.

Why should I trust this comparison page when you wrote it?

Honest answer: you shouldn't, fully. We've tried to keep the matrix factual (sourced from BeProfit's public docs and Shopify listing as of May 2026), and we've called out where they win — including specific features we don't ship and don't plan to. Try both for 7 days each, compare your actual workflow, and pick the one that fits. We'd rather you pick BeProfit because it's right for your business than churn off Ecom Forward because it isn't.
