Ecom Forward
vs Lifetimely.

No sales spin. Where Lifetimely wins, we say so. Where Ecom Forward wins, we point to the specific feature so you can verify yourself. Pick the one that fits your business.

Lifetimely calculates LTV.
Ecom Forward runs the business.

Lifetimely is a cohort and LTV tool — and a good one. It tells you what your customers are worth over time. But running an ecommerce brand needs more than the LTV number. You need cash-flow visibility (will I make payroll this month?), forward-looking goals (are we on pace?), a team working inside the same data (your accountant, VA, media buyer — each with their own scoped access), and tasks tied to the metrics rather than parked in a separate Notion.

Most Lifetimely users we talk to are running Lifetimely + BeProfit + a forecasting spreadsheet + Notion or Asana for tasks. Ecom Forward replaces that stack at $99/mo for a single store — and ships cohort analysis as one of five report types, not the only product.

Choose Ecom Forward if…

  • You want cohort + LTV AND the operating system around it — cash flow, balance sheet, goals, tasks, team workspace.
  • You want P&L + Cash Flow + Balance Sheet — Lifetimely ships none of these as first-class.
  • You manage by monthly goals and want them tracked first-class.
  • You give scoped access to accountants, agencies, or contractors via custom roles per-tab.
  • You want Ford — an AI co-founder built into the dashboard, Slack and Telegram.
  • You value every feature at every tier — no gating.

Choose Lifetimely if…

Part of the Tapcart family
  • Your only question is LTV — predictive forecasts, cohort retention math, segment-level value.
  • You need Klaviyo segment-level LTV integration specifically.
  • You already use Tapcart for your mobile app and want a single vendor.
  • You want to start on a genuinely useful Free tier while validating the cohort question.
  • You don't need cash flow, balance sheet, goals, or a team operating workspace right now.

Both products do cohort analysis well. The split below shows where each one is structurally ahead — pick by the rows that matter to your business, not by feature count.

Where Lifetimely is genuinely ahead

Where they're structurally ahead today — be honest with yourself if these matter for your business.

  • Predictive LTV modeling. Their forecasts of future cohort value are more sophisticated than ours — built over years of refinement.
  • LTV by acquisition source. They connect cohort LTV back to UTM / channel data in ways we don't yet.
  • Klaviyo segment-level LTV. Deeper Klaviyo integration than we have — push LTV values into Klaviyo segments for targeting.
  • Free tier. Genuinely usable for validating the cohort question before committing to a paid tool.
  • Tapcart bundling. If you already run a Tapcart mobile app, Lifetimely is the same vendor — one bill, one support team.
  • DTC brand recognition. Established name in the LTV/cohort space, often mentioned in retention podcasts and DTC newsletters.

Where Ecom Forward is genuinely ahead

Lifetimely is a cohort and LTV tool. Ecom Forward is where you run the business — money, team, goals, tasks — and cohort analysis is one of five report types inside it.

  • Cash Flow + Balance Sheet. 13-week rolling forecast, runway widget, auto-derived inventory + retained earnings + payouts. Lifetimely ships neither statement.
  • Five report types vs one. Cohort + Discount + Processing + Returns + Custom. Lifetimely is cohort-focused.
  • Goals as a first-class tab. 6 metrics × per-store × per-month + history + hit/miss streak. Lifetimely has no goal-tracking surface.
  • Ford, your AI co-founder. Ask anything in plain English in the dashboard, Slack, or Telegram. Lifetimely has nothing like it.
  • Per-tab custom team roles. Give your accountant just Financials, your agency just Marketing. Lifetimely has basic admin / viewer — that's it.
  • Tasks board + AI Listings. The operating workflow inside the analytics product — not just a read-only dashboard.
  • Multi-currency reporting. Convert all stores to a reporting currency via live FX rates. Lifetimely is shop-currency-only.
  • Subscription order auto-detection. Recharge / Skio / Loop / native — no manual config.
  • Active product velocity. New features shipping monthly — five report types, a creative-analytics tab, task automations, and a PWA all shipped in a single quarter.
  • Self-serve everything. Cancel, swap plans, invite team — all in-app via Stripe Customer Portal.
  • Every feature at every tier. Captain $99 includes the same features as Fleet $349 — only store count + AI cap + support depth differ.

Common questions

Is Ecom Forward cheaper than Lifetimely?

For most operators, yes. Captain at $99/mo includes cohort analysis (the centerpiece of Lifetimely's offering) plus everything else — P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Goals, Tasks, team workspace. Lifetimely Pro is roughly $199/mo for cohort + basic P&L. The only case where Lifetimely is cheaper is their Free tier — which works fine if cohort is your only question and you can live with the limits.

Do I lose any features by switching from Lifetimely to Ecom Forward?

Yes, in three areas: (1) predictive LTV models — Lifetimely's forecasts of future cohort value are more sophisticated than ours. (2) LTV by acquisition source / UTM — they connect cohort LTV back to channel data deeper than we do. (3) Klaviyo segment-level LTV — they push LTV values into Klaviyo segments for targeting in ways we don't. If any of those are load-bearing for you, stay on Lifetimely.

What do I gain by switching?

You stop running your business across multiple tools. Lifetimely tells you what your customers are worth — that's its job, and it does it well. But to actually run an ecommerce brand you also need cash-flow visibility (will I make payroll this month?), forward-looking goals (are we on pace?), a team working inside the data (your accountant, VA, media buyer — each with scoped access), and tasks tied to the metrics rather than parked in a separate Notion. Most Lifetimely users today stitch Lifetimely + BeProfit + a forecasting spreadsheet + Notion or Asana. Ecom Forward replaces that stack.

Concretely: Cash Flow + Balance Sheet (Lifetimely ships neither), Goals as a first-class tab, per-tab custom team roles, Tasks board with automation, Ford the AI co-founder, multi-currency reporting, subscription order detection, plus four more report types beyond cohort (Discount, Processing, Returns, Custom) — all at $99/mo at the entry tier, same feature set as the $349 tier, just fewer stores.

Can I import my Lifetimely data into Ecom Forward?

Most of what matters re-syncs from Shopify automatically when you connect — orders, products, COGS (variant-level), refunds, customers. Cohort analysis recomputes from your order history. Predictive LTV models don't transfer — we use a simpler retrospective LTV calculation from actual order data. Custom Klaviyo segment overlays you set up in Lifetimely need to be rebuilt in Klaviyo directly.

Is Lifetimely actively shipping new features?

They're maintained — the product works and is supported. But their pace has slowed in recent quarters compared to 2-3 years ago. Whether that matters to you depends on whether you need a tool that's actively shipping or one that does what it does well today. Ecom Forward ships new features monthly — five new report types, a creative-analytics tab, task automations, and a PWA all shipped in the past quarter alone.

Why should I trust this comparison page when you wrote it?

Honest answer: you shouldn't, fully. We've tried to keep the matrix factual (sourced from Lifetimely's public docs and Shopify listing as of May 2026), and we've called out where they win — including specific features we don't ship. Try both for the trial period, compare your actual workflow, and pick the one that fits. We'd rather you pick Lifetimely because it's right for your business than churn off Ecom Forward because it isn't.
