The daily morning digest email

A 4-line morning briefing in your inbox at 7 AM UTC. Yesterday's numbers, one priority watch, and a link back to the dashboard.

3 min read

Each day at 12:00 UTC, Ecom Forward sends you a short email covering yesterday's business. It's designed as a habit builder — the ritual happens before you even open a browser.

Note

The digest is your gentle daily summary. For anything urgent — a ROAS collapse, a stockout, a refund spike — Ford's alerts watch around the clock and reach you the moment something crosses a line. See Ford's alerts.

What the email contains

  • Yesterday's revenue, profit, orders, ad spend — compared to the 7-day average.
  • One “watch” line — the single highest-priority thing to pay attention to. Could be a stale sync, a product running low, a loss day, or a reconnect needed.
  • Two CTAs — “Open dashboard” (primary) and “Quick peek” (opens the mobile view).

Tuning it

Every account has the digest enabled by default. To turn it off:

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Scroll to Notifications.
  3. Toggle Daily morning digest off.

You can also unsubscribe with one click from the footer link in any digest email.

Who gets the digest

Only the account owner in v1. Team members don't receive it because their data access is role-scoped — sending them a portfolio-wide summary could leak data they shouldn't see. If that becomes a pain point, email us.

New accounts with no data

If your account has literally no revenue yet (first day, still setting up), the digest skips. We don't send “$0 revenue, $0 profit” — it's discouraging, not helpful.

A sibling email fires on the 1st of every month (12:00 UTC) summarizing the month that just ended — three headline metrics, a “what we caught for you” list, your goal hits and misses, and best-day highlights. It's your proof-of-value email. Toggle it independently under Settings → Notifications.

FAQs

What timezone does it send in?

UTC. We don't yet localize to each user's timezone — 12:00 UTC lands around midday for a European operator and morning for North America. The numbers always cover yesterday in each store's own local day, so they line up with what you'd see in Shopify.

What if the cron misses a day?

The digest dedups by calendar day, so a delayed run still fires at most once per UTC day. You won't get double emails.

Why is my digest empty / not showing numbers?

Either the Shopify sync hasn't run for yesterday yet, or there were no orders. Check the Recent Activity feed on the Dashboard for sync status.
