The Tasks tab is a full kanban-style task board. Drag cards across columns, assign teammates, add due dates, turn signals into tasks. Unlike Asana or Trello, it lives inside Ecom Forward — tasks and numbers share the same data layer.
Boards
Tasks are organised into boards— you start with one (“Tasks”) and can add as many as you like: Marketing, Fulfillment, Customer support, Content. Each board has its own columns and its own filters, so a workflow that makes sense for fulfillment doesn't clutter your marketing board. Switch boards from the pill row at the top of the page.
Board, list, and calendar views
Toggle the view in the top-right. Your choice is saved per-user.
- Board — columns horizontally, cards inside (kanban).
- List — a flat list sorted by status.
- Calendar — a month grid by due date. Drag a task onto a day to reschedule it; click an empty day to create one. (Drag-to-reschedule is desktop-only.)
Customizing columns
Ecom Forward ships with 5 default columns: To do · Research · In progress · Review · Done (Research and Review are disabled by default so the initial board feels clean). Customize freely:
- Click Columns in the top-right.
- Toggle columns on/off, rename, recolor, or add new ones.
- Drag columns to reorder.
- Save.
Note
Custom fields & filters
Add your own fields to tasks — text, number, currency, date, dropdown, checkbox, tags, URL, email. Show the ones that matter on the card face, and pin any of them (plus Priority) as a filter row above the columns so you can slice a board down to exactly what you need. Manage them with the Custom fields and Filters buttons.
Templates
Save a reusable task scaffold — title, default assignee, priority, board, a deadline offset (“due 7 days from when used”), and preset custom-field values. The + New Task button has a dropdown of your templates; pick one and it pre-fills the form. Great for recurring work like a product launch or a weekly content drop.
Automations
Build “when X, then Y” rules under Workspace → Tasks → Automations. Triggers include a task being created, changing status, or coming due/overdue; actions include setting status / assignee / priority / deadline, creating a follow-up task, or sending an email. Example: “when a Fulfillment task hits Packed, email the warehouse.” Rules can be scoped to one board or run across all of them, and you can preview whether a rule would fire before turning it on.

Creating tasks from signals
Every signal in Needs Attention has a Create task button. Click it and the signal context pre-fills the task — title, description, store, and link back to the source.

Cmd+Enter. - Delete via the red button — soft-delete with 10-second undo.
Permissions
Task board access is gated by the taskstab in team roles. Assign “editor” to members who should create / edit tasks; “viewer” for read-only; “none” to hide the tab entirely.
